Your Own Door is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.
Who we are
Your Own Door is an Ireland Relocation & Housing Concierge service operated by Suzanne Quinn, based in Dublin, Ireland. We can be contacted at hello@yourowndoor.ie.
For the purposes of GDPR, Your Own Door is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in the course of providing our services.
What personal data we collect
We collect personal data in the following circumstances:
- Contact form submissions — your name, email address, and any information you choose to share about your relocation situation
- Booking and payment — when you book a call or service via Stripe, Stripe processes your payment details directly. We receive confirmation of the transaction and your contact details
- Email correspondence — any personal information you share with us by email in the course of enquiring about or using our services
- Service delivery — information relevant to your relocation, such as your preferred areas, budget, timeline, household size, and property requirements, shared by you in the course of using our services
We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as financial account details, health information, or identity documents) directly through this website. Any documents you share with us for the purpose of preparing a rental application are used solely for that purpose and handled with strict confidentiality.
How we use your data
We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the services you have requested
- To communicate with you about your relocation, property search, or service booking
- To process bookings and payments (via Stripe)
- To send follow-up information where you have indicated interest in our services
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Our legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract — where processing is necessary to deliver the service you have booked or requested
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and communicate with prospective clients
- Consent — where you have actively provided information and indicated you wish to hear from us
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party tools in the operation of our business:
- Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/ie/privacy
- Calendly — for scheduling calls, where applicable. Calendly's privacy policy is available at calendly.com/privacy
- Google (Fonts, Analytics) — this website uses Google Fonts and may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy
Each of these services processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies and GDPR obligations. We select third-party services carefully and only share the minimum data necessary.
How long we keep your data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:
- Enquiry and contact form data is retained for up to 12 months from the date of last contact, after which it is deleted unless an active service relationship exists
- Data relating to completed service engagements is retained for up to 3 years for legitimate business record-keeping purposes
- Payment records are retained as required by Irish tax and accounting obligations (typically 6 years)
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it
- Right to restrict processing — to request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@yourowndoor.ie. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC), the Irish supervisory authority for data protection matters. Further information is available at dataprotection.ie.
